Our read
Written Oct 18, from his facts through last season
The scoring flags stack up on Tyler Allgeier, and they all point the same way. His points lean on touchdowns more than almost any back we track this way, and among players in his spot that lean has come at a real cost the next season. The red-zone touch share alone has cost that group 6.4 points a game year over year, net of four factors, the inside-ten share another 1.4, and the touchdown ratio itself 0.7. Three separate ways of asking the same question, three drops, and his profile trips all three.
The 2026 weeks back it up. One touchdown through five games, 3 of Arizona's 30 touches inside the ten, 9 of 59 in the red zone, RB44 in that red-zone group, and 6.9 points a game. That beats the 5.7 preseason pace we set for him, but 12.9 of his points came in week 4 of 2026 alone, with 3.9, 4.9 and 3.6 around it. He is scoring above his means, not below them, and the yards after contact sit at 1.5 a carry, mid-pack among backs with real carries.
The role moved too. He left Atlanta for Arizona, sits second on the depth chart behind Jeremiyah Love, and McBride and Wilson already took 48% of Arizona's targets in 2025. The one genuinely good thing: he has never missed a game, 17 of 17 three straight years, no designation now. But durability without touches is just healthy bench-warming. Our number was 86 points for the season, RB49 on our board, and five weeks of this have not argued for more. We would drop him ahead of week 6 of 2026 for a free agent with real weekly range, and the stretch against NYJ, NO and LV across weeks 15, 16 and 17 of 2026 is not a reason to keep holding him.
