Our read
Written Oct 19, from his facts through last season
He has not dressed once through week 5 of 2026, five missed weeks with no injury designation to explain it, and the depth chart gives no reason to think that changes. He is listed sixth among CHI wideouts, behind Odunze, Luther Burden III, Kalif Raymond and Zavion Thomas, which is a special-teams seat, not a receiving one.
The role never existed even when he did play. Last season with the Giants he ran routes on 52.4% of snaps but pulled just a 7.7% target share, one red-zone touch all year, and an average depth of target of 5.6 yards that ranked him 194th among 223 qualifying receivers. His points a game fell from 8.38 in 2024 to 2.32 in 2025, and the move from NYG to CHI lands him in a room where Rome Odunze and Colston Loveland took 40% of the 2025 targets between them. Players in his spot have lost 0.9 points a game year over year on average, and that cost is the realistic shape of his weeks, not an outlier scenario.
Our preseason projection was 12 points for the full 2026 season, built on 2 expected games, and he has banked none of them. Even if he suits up in week 6 of 2026, four receivers sit ahead of him in Chicago, so the targets he needs have to come from a pile that already belongs to other people. He is not worth holding while you wait for a role that has never been there. Drop him for a receiver with a live week in front of him.
