Our read
Written Oct 18, from his facts through last season
Brown has not dressed for a single game through week 5 of 2026, and there has been no injury designation since before week 1, so the clean reading is that Los Angeles simply has no role for him yet. He is listed eighth among LAC wide receivers, behind McConkey, Johnston, Harris and Thompson, and a rookie who went undrafted out of the 2026 class starting that far down the chart rarely climbs without absences ahead of him.
Our projection was set before the season and it was never ambitious: 1 point for the full year, and that whole number rested on him playing just 1.0 points a game, one game and done, before we knew anything about his roster situation. Five missed weeks later the season has gone further from that number, not toward it. The middle range of outcomes runs from -1 to 3 points, and the low end only stretches toward 0 when injuries cost him games. Nothing in the first five weeks argues the range should move up. His bye arrives in week 7 of 2026, so there is not even a chance for a surprise snap next week.
The one honest reason to keep an eye on him is the offense itself. Mike McDaniel is new as the play caller, and LAC threw on 58% of situation-neutral plays last year, so targets exist in this scheme. They went 43% to Allen and McConkey in 2025, though, and Brown is nowhere near that queue. If you are holding him, hold for news of a depth chart climb, and if you need the roster spot, this is an easy release.
