Our read
Written Sun 12:01 am Central, for week 6
Jameson Williams does not play this week: the Lions sit on their bye in week 6 of 2026, so he scores nothing and needs to come out of your lineup. Find a fill-in for the one week. He's clean on Sunday's report and coming off 18.7 PPR points at Arizona and 16.2 PPR points at Carolina, with 11.5 PPR points a game this season. He sits second among Detroit receivers behind Amon-Ra St. Brown, and his next game comes in week 7 at home against the Packers, so keep him rostered.
Written Oct 17, from his facts through last season
The first three weeks were ugly, 8.5, 5.3 and 8.9, but weeks 4 and 5 of 2026 look like the receiver we put at WR18 overall: 16.2 and then 18.7. That tracks the 12.9 a game he averaged across 2025, when he topped the position's weekly median in 14 of 17. Before the season we figured him for 14.9 points a game over 15 games, which is how we got to 223 for the year. He is not there yet over five weeks, but the last two suggest he is heading toward it.
What he does is what he did last year: nearly every snap, 90.3%, and a third of the team's air yards, 35.1% last season and 32% through five weeks of 2026. That profile is a big-play, deep-volume thing, and it holds. Among players with his snap load, points a game rose 8 on average the next season, and among those with his target share they rose 5.9. The separation numbers are fine too, 2.6 yards at the catch and +0.4 after the catch over expectation on the tracked weeks.
The real cost is the red zone. This season he sits at 4% of DET's red-zone carries and targets, 3 of 71, WR56 among 64, and in 2025 he was WR136 among 223 on red-zone share of his touches. St. Brown and LaPorta took 50% of the targets in 2025, and a crowded room like his has on average shaved 0.9 points a game the next season. He is on bye in week 6 of 2026, so the next look comes in week 7. We would hold. If the last two weeks of 2026 are the real him, he is giving you more than where he went at 45.6 before the season.
