Our read
Written Sun 12:01 am Central, for week 6
Malik Washington doesn't play in week 6 of 2026, because the Dolphins are on their bye, so a spot in your lineup built on him scores nothing this week. His next chance comes in week 7, away against the Jets at 12:00 pm Central. Even before the bye he was treading water, 10 PPR points a game over five weeks with no touchdowns, and in our rest-of-season order he sits 56th overall and WR26 at 114 PPR points. Keep him stashed for week 7 and plug a fill-in into the lineup this week.
Written Oct 17, from his facts through last season
Ten a game with zero touchdowns. That is the whole thing with Malik Washington right now, because the week-by-week climb, 6.3 in week 1 of 2026 up to 12.1 in week 5, is coming almost entirely from volume and efficiency rather than scores. If even a couple of those 36 targets turn into touchdowns, the 10.0 he is running jumps past the 8.4 a game we set for him before the season. The efficiency says he has earned them: 3.2 yards of separation on tracked targets, 11th among 57, and 32% of Miami's air yards in his games, 29th of 64.
The usage jump is real too. His target share went from 7.8% in 2024 to 14.1% in 2025, and the new staff has not taken it back. But this is where the case gets shaky. Receivers working a room this crowded have dropped 0.9 points a game from one year to the next on average, and his expected team wins sit at 3.5, a spot where the dip runs 0.8. Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle took 47% of the targets here in 2025, and nothing on the depth chart says that changed. Our projection for 2026 was 126 points, and Miami's bye this season lands right when you would have been starting him anyway, so it costs you almost nothing.
So hold. The trend is pointing up and the scores have not even arrived. If week 7 of 2026 comes and he is still stuck at zero touchdowns, that is when you worry.
