Our read
Written Oct 19, from his facts through last season
Weeks 3, 4 and 5 of 2026, he did not play, and he sits Out heading into week 6. The two games he did suit up, he gave you 0.7 and 0.8 points on 5 carries with zero targets. That is not a slow start, that is a player with no role. Dallas lists him third at running back behind Javonte Williams, so a return to the lineup does not come with touches attached. And the missed weeks are nothing new: he sat out weeks 7 and 12 to 14 of 2025 hurt, and no season of his has gone past 13 games.
The profile never supported optimism anyway. Last year he averaged 4.9 points a game, topped out at 13.4 in week 10 of 2025, and never cleared 15 points once. His 23.0% snap share ranked RB78 among 158 qualifying running backs, and his target share was just 4.4%. His 10.9% inside-ten touch share has cost backs in his spot 1.4 points a game the following season on average, and his yards per touch fell from 8.2 in 2024 to 7.2 in 2025. The move from ARI to Dallas was supposed to be the upgrade, but Lamb and Pickens take 46% of the targets between them, and nothing in the numbers says the new staff sees him as more than a fourth quarter body.
We put 99 points on him before the season, RB45 on our board, off 13 expected games, and his best year, 2023, was only 73.3 points over 11 games. He is tracking nowhere near that pace, and until he is back on the field with a real workload, we would drop him and use the roster spot on someone who can actually help you.
