Our read

Written Sun 12:01 am Central, for week 6

Kaytron Allen sits third among Washington backs behind Jacory Croskey-Merritt and Rachaad White, and that depth chart is what decides his Monday night in San Francisco. The production has been next to nothing when he plays: 1.4 PPR points a game over three games with 0 touchdowns, and he missed week 3 and week 5 of 2026. The 49ers give up 23.2 PPR points a game to running backs, 23rd of 32, but those carries belong to the backs ahead of him. In our rest-of-season order he lands at 20.1 PPR points, RB104. Keep him out of your lineup and put a back with a real role in the spot.

Written Oct 17, from his facts through last season

Everything about this profile says wait, and five weeks in, the waiting has produced nothing to wait for. Twelve carries, 41 yards, zero targets across three games, and he sat out weeks 3 and 5 of 2026 entirely. That is 1.4 points a game when we figured 5.4 over the 8 games we expected him to give us before the season.

The path was always going to run through the Washington depth chart, and it does not run anywhere right now. He is listed third among the backs, behind Jacory Croskey-Merritt and Rachaad White, with Jeremy McNichols fourth. A sixth-round rookie with no targets through week 5 of 2026 is not forcing that room to rearrange itself, and new play caller David Blough has given him no reason to. The offense itself does not help a young back claw his way in, either. Washington played slow last season at 33.6 seconds a play, threw on 50% of situation-neutral plays, and won 5 games, so there was never going to be a pile of carries to distribute here.

Our 43 points for the season assumed 8 games from a rookie who might not be active weekly, and even that modest figure now looks generous at 1.4 a game. His bye comes in week 7 of 2026, so there is not even a week of production ahead before the empty stretch. When he has been on the field, the role has been pure depth, and no week so far has looked like the start of anything. Cut him and use the spot on a back with a real path.
