Our read
Written Oct 17, from his facts through last season
Four carries and eight rushing yards through five weeks of 2026. Two catches for 35 yards are the only reason he is not at a literal zero, and he has not scored. We had him at 4.1 points a game for the season before it started. He is at 1.3.
The slide is not new. He went 116.1 points in 2024, RB40 among 129, then 58.1 in 2025, RB65 among 159, with his weekly average cut in half from 6.83 to 3.42. The usage behind it was thin all year: a 14.8% snap share, RB103 among 158 qualifying backs, and 11 red-zone touches. He scored above the position's weekly median just 4 times in 17 games. A new play caller in Pete Carmichael Jr. does not fix a role that was never his to begin with, because James Cook owns the backfield and Davis sits behind him even on the latest depth chart we hold.
The one mercy is availability. He has played all 34 games across two seasons and has not missed one this year, with no designation since before week 4 of 2026. Healthy and invisible is still invisible. Our preseason number had 57 points for the full year with most outcomes between 39 and 75. He is running at 1.3 points a game against a low end of that band at 39, and five weeks have not moved him any closer. With his bye in week 7 of 2026 coming up, use the roster spot on someone who can help you in week 8 instead.
