Our read
Written Sep 8, from his facts through last season
The number that ends this conversation is one. One game played in 2025, 0.4 points in it, and then 14 healthy weeks where Detroit never put him on the field. That's not a depth chart read, that's a coaching staff with a full season of information choosing someone else every single week. He's 30 now, entering year eight, and he landed in Washington where a new play caller has even less history with him than the last staff did.
And this isn't new behavior. In 2024 he played 8 of 17 and sat healthy for the other 9. In 2023 he got 12 games and finished RB70, which was the one decent year of the bunch, and it still came as a part-timer. Even in that lone 2025 appearance he ran a 0.9% snap share, RB142 among 146 qualifying backs, with 3 total touches. He's never been trusted with a real role anywhere, and 2025's 1.3 yards per touch down from 5.3 in 2024 says he's slower now too.
The production side is just as bleak. His yards per touch cratered from 5.3 in 2024 to 1.3 last year, which is a real decline, not noise. The role never showed up either: he got zero red-zone touches and zero targets in his lone appearance. Our number is 2 points for the season, RB163, and that's with an expected 3 games and a realistic range of 0 to 9. The injury part isn't the issue, the healthy-scratch part is.
There's no ADP on file because nobody spends a pick here. That's fine, he doesn't cost anything. But he doesn't help anything either. If you're a Washington backfield believer, this isn't your entry point. Let him go and spend the last pick on upside or your defense.
