Our read

Written Oct 17, from his facts through last season

Four targets in six games. That is the whole 2026 season so far, and it ends with 0.5 points a game, zeros in five of six weeks including all of weeks 2 through 6 of 2026. He has been healthy every week, so this is not an availability story, it is a role story, and the role is empty.

He sits second on the DEN depth chart behind Evan Engram, with Sean Payton calling the plays just as he did last year. Last season he played 13 games, never cracked 10 points after week 2 of 2025, and finished TE57 among 137 qualifying tight ends at 3.5 a game. He never cleared 15 points in any of those 13 weeks. His target share was 3.9% of Denver's passes, and Courtland Sutton and Troy Franklin together took 39%. One red-zone touch all of 2025, and his average depth of target was 4.6 yards, TE73 among 125 qualifying tight ends. The snaps were there at 57.1%, TE35 among 137, and they still produced almost nothing. Nothing in the setup suggested a jump, and none has come.

Our preseason number was 73 points over 15 expected games, about 4.9 a game, and he is running well under a quarter of that pace. We had him TE40, which already said we did not believe, and we hold no ADP for him on our board. He is not worth a roster spot now, and the week 10 of 2026 bye is the only reason to glance at him. Drop him and use the spot on someone who sees targets.
