Our read

Luke Farrell is listed third among San Francisco tight ends behind George Kittle and Jake Tonges, and the published projection has him at 2.4 points in PPR scoring. He's put up 0 PPR points in three straight games and 0.8 PPR points a game this season with no touchdowns. Washington does allow the 30th-most PPR points a game to tight ends at 22.2 PPR points a game, but that volume never reaches him. In our rest-of-season order he's TE85 at 18.5 PPR points. Keep him on your bench for week 6 of 2026 and find a fill-in.
Written Oct 19, from his facts through last season
Zero points in weeks 2 through 5 of 2026, and four targets on the season. He has given his managers nothing to work with, and that alone decides him. Even in 2025, when he played 13 games, he cleared 15 points in none of them and beat the position's weekly median in 2 of those 13.
The role was never going to produce. He sits third among SF tight ends behind Kittle and Tonges, and the 2025 usage backs that up: a 2.5% target share out of all SF targets, an average depth of target of 2.9 yards, and 4 red-zone touches all season. Kyle Shanahan calls the plays himself and is continuing from last year, so there is no reason to expect that split to move. The one thing he had going for him was work near the goal line, and that showed in a red-zone share of his own touches ranking TE18 among 126 qualifying tight ends. But 4 red-zone touches across a season is not a path to fantasy relevance, and George Kittle plus Christian McCaffrey soaked up 45% of SF's targets in 2025 anyway.
The touchdown-share tag on him comes with a real cost. Among players in his spot, points a game fell 0.7 the following season on average, and he is living it: 2.3 a game in 2025 down to 0.8 through five weeks of 2026. Our preseason number was 45 points for the year, a 3.2-point pace over the 14 games we expected, and he is nowhere near that pace. There was no ADP for him before the season and nothing has changed since. Hold nothing here, and if he is somehow taking a roster spot, that spot has better uses.
