Our read
Written Oct 17, from his facts through last season
Brock Bowers owns this passing game, and that decides everything about Ian Thomas. He is listed third among LV tight ends, Michael Mayer sits ahead of him too, so the touches Thomas gets are scraps by design. Through five weeks of 2026 the numbers show it: 4 targets, 4 catches, 52 yards, and a touchdown he was lucky to catch. Strip out the 11.2-point week 4 of 2026 and he has 4.0 points across four games.
Last season he played 9 games, and 8 more weeks he was healthy and still did not dress for. When he was on the field, his 35.5% snap share ranked 78th among 137 qualifying tight ends, he topped out at 7.6 points in week 12 of 2025, and he never cleared 15 points in any week. His target share was 2.9% of the LV passing game, he had zero red-zone touches all year, and his average depth of target was 3.2 yards. That is a blocker's profile with nothing underneath it for fantasy. He was already third here in 2025 behind the same Bowers problem, and the new Kubiak and Janocko staff gives no reason to expect a different role for a 31-year-old tight end.
We put him at 36 points for the season before it started, and he is running right at that number at 3.0 a game. There is no upside case to talk yourself into. He is not worth a roster spot, and the space is better spent on someone who can actually give you a game-changing week.
