Our read
Written Sun 12:01 am Central, for week 6
Brock Wright scores nothing in week 6 of 2026 because the Lions are on bye. His next game is week 7 at home against the Packers, Sunday 3:25 pm Central, and there's no injury designation on Sunday's report. Don't count on much when he returns: he sits behind Sam LaPorta at 1.6 PPR points a game with no touchdowns, and 30.3 PPR points rest of season in our rest-of-season order. Keep him stashed and find a fill-in for the tight end spot this week.
Written Oct 17, from his facts through last season
Brock Wright has caught five passes. That is the entire 2026 season so far: 31 yards, no touchdowns, and 1.6 points a game through five weeks, with a zero in week 2 of 2026. Even for a blocking tight end listed behind Sam LaPorta, that is not a role anyone can use, and the bye in week 6 of 2026 gives you one more reason not to think about him this week.
The 2025 shape explains it. He played eight games, averaged 4.6 points, and cleared the position's weekly median in only 4 of them. The neck injury that put him on the report from week 13 of 2025 on cost him the rest of the year. His average target sits 1.0 yards downfield, TE116 among 125 qualifying tight ends, so Detroit is not scheming him into anything. Amon-Ra St. Brown and LaPorta combined for 50% of the targets last season, and nothing in the coaching picture, with Dan Campbell and John Morton both back, suggests that changes.
The numbers back the eye test too. He carried a 1.1x touchdown share, and players in that spot saw points a game fall 0.7 on average from one season to the next. Our preseason number was 76 points with him at TE37, but the middle range bottoms at 57 and 2026 is not on pace to get near it. This is not a one-down blip in the career line either: he played 8 of 17 games in 2025, 11 of 17 in 2024, and 9 of 17 in 2023, with healthy weeks he did not dress in each of those years. There is nothing to hold for here. Move him out for a tight end with a chance to matter this season.
