Our read
Written Sun 12:01 am Central, for week 6
The Vikings don't play in week 6 of 2026, so Yurosek sits out and scores nothing this week. He comes back in week 7 at home against Indianapolis, kicking off Sunday at 12:00 pm Central, and there's no designation for him on Sunday's report. Even then, he's listed third among Minnesota's tight ends behind T.J. Hockenson and Josh Oliver, and he managed 2 PPR points in his only appearance this season. In our rest-of-season order he sits at 13.7 PPR points, TE107, so there's no rush to keep him around unless your tight end depth is thin.
Written Oct 17, from his facts through last season
Minnesota did not dress him for weeks 1, 2, 3 and 4 of 2026, then gave him 2 points on one catch in week 5. That is the whole 2026 sample so far, and it matches what 2025 showed: 6 games, 3 points all season, 0.6 a game, and not one week above the position median. He averaged 0.9% of the targets on an offense Jefferson and Addison swallow half of.
The depth chart explains the silence. He is third among MIN tight ends behind T.J. Hockenson and Josh Oliver, and O'Connell kept that order standing all of last season, when Yurosek's snap share never cleared 17% and his target share sat between 0% and 1%. Zero red-zone touches, zero touches inside the ten, and a 3.7-yard average depth of target. There is no role here to grow into this year.
Our preseason number was 23 points over the 13 games we expected, about 1.8 a game, and he has already burned four weeks of that. He has no injury designation now and a bye coming in week 6 of 2026, so the realistic path is a handful of spare snaps behind two tight ends ahead of him. We ranked him TE100 for a reason, and the first five weeks have not softened it. Through week 5 of 2026 he has given you nothing a roster spot needs, so let him go and spend the spot on a tight end who is actually on the field.
