Our read
Written Oct 17, from his facts through last season
One game played through week 5 of 2026, zero targets in it, and weeks 1, 2, 3 and 5 missed entirely. That is Max Klare's season so far. The one mild note in his favor is that the injury report has stayed clear since before the current stretch of games, so the absences look like a coach's choice rather than a body problem.
The choice makes sense from the Rams' side. He is a second-round rookie with no ADP on our page, and Los Angeles lists him fourth at tight end behind Colby Parkinson, Tyler Higbee and Terrance Ferguson. Sean McVay calls the plays himself, and in 2025 Puka Nacua and Davante Adams together took 55% of the targets on this offense. There was never much leftover for a fourth tight end to inherit.
Before the season we set our number at 64 points for the year, about 4.9 a game across the 13 games we expected, and we put him at TE50 on our board. That projection assumed he would see the field. He has not, and there is nothing on the schedule that changes his standing: his bye in week 11 of 2026 is still ahead and weeks 15 to 17 run through DAL, SEA and TB, none of which helps a player this far down the depth chart. In a shallower league, cut him and use the spot on a tight end who is playing. Only in a very deep league does the second-round pedigree earn him another few weeks on a roster, and even then we would rather pick up a tight end who is actually playing.
