Our read
Written Oct 17, from his facts through last season
Musgrave has missed every game this season, weeks 1 through 5 of 2026, and he has carried an out designation since before week 1. We expected only 3 games from him all year when we set our preseason number, and he has played none of them. Week 6 of 2026 is next and there are no headlines suggesting he is close.
Even before the absence, the role was not worth rostering. Last season he played 13 of 17 games, so this is not a durability story, it is a usage story. He took 6.7% of GB's targets, TE50 among 137 qualifying tight ends, and saw exactly one red-zone touch all year, TE78 among 126. He never cleared 15 points in any week, with a best of 9.2 in week 15 of 2025 and a worst of 0.9 in week 11. The one thing moving the right way is efficiency, with yards per target up from 4.5 in 2024 to 8.1 in 2025, but on a 6.7% share that does not turn into points.
The path back is blocked too. He is listed fifth among GB tight ends behind Tucker Kraft, Jonnu Smith and Josh Whyle, and LaFleur is back calling the plays for an offense that took a 9.5-win season into 2026 without needing him. Our preseason number of 11 points, TE113 at the position, already assumed almost nothing, and five missed weeks have eaten into even that. Drop him and add a tight end who is on the field.
