Our read

Written Sun 12:01 am Central, for week 6

The Dolphins sit on bye in week 6 of 2026, so Justin Joly scores nothing this week no matter what you do with him. Even when the team returns, he's fourth among Miami tight ends behind Greg Dulcich and he hasn't logged a game all season, with a Questionable tag on Sunday's report besides. His next shot comes in week 7 away at the Jets, kicking off Sunday at 12:00 pm Central. Keep him out of your lineup this week and fill the spot with a tight end who actually plays.

Written Oct 17, from his facts through last season

A fifth-round rookie has yet to step on a field. Justin Joly did not play in week 1, week 2, week 3, week 4 or week 5 of 2026, so five games into the year his line still reads zero games and zero points. He has carried a question designation since before week 7 of 2026, and week 6 of 2026 is Miami's bye, so there is no game to resolve anything this weekend either. When we set our number before the season, we expected 12 games and penciled him in for about 4.2 points a game, 50 points in all. That pace assumed a season that has not started.

The depth chart does not help him either. Miami lists him fourth among the tight ends behind Greg Dulcich, Will Kacmarek and Seydou Traore, and this is a new staff in town with Jeff Hafley running the team and Bobby Slowik calling plays, so there is no incumbent usage he was guaranteed to inherit. The passing volume is workable, Miami threw on 52% of situation-neutral plays in 2025, but Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle combined for 47% of the 2025 targets, and a fourth-string tight end chasing scraps behind those two is not a path to week-winning numbers.

So here is where that leaves you. If you drafted him, you took a stash, and the stash has cost you a month of nothing already. We would hold him only if your roster has a spot to waste, because the middle range of outcomes, 33 to 68 points, still requires him to get on the field and climb past three names. If your tight end spot is leaking points, spend the roster spot elsewhere and check back after the bye in week 6 of 2026 to see if the Q clears and a role appears.
