Our read
Written Oct 17, from his facts through last season
The zeroes are what decide this. No touchdowns in five games of 2026, none of the 14 carries or targets inside the ten, and 3% of the red-zone work in his games. A 30-year-old slot receiver averaging 3.5 yards a target, last among 85 qualifying receivers, needs the scoring range to carry him and Tampa is not sending him there.
The target room tells the same story. He held 26.6% of the targets in 2024, slid to 18.3% in 2025, and Emeka Egbuka took 23% of that pie last year with Mike Evans matching him. Godwin sits second on the depth chart behind Egbuka with a brand new play caller in Zac Robinson, and the early returns are 7.7 points a game against our preseason pace of 11.5. Our projection was 150 points for the season and we had him WR50. That looks generous now.
The availability case is worse than the usage case, and the usage case is bad. He played 9 of 17 games in 2025 and 7 of 17 in 2024, with misses scattered across both seasons, and 2023's full year is the outlier now. Players drafted where he went before the season, at 77.8, have run about 156 points in seasons like this one, so our 150 was already a haircut. The last two years have not been. We would drop him and spend the spot on a receiver with touchdown paths, because his current role has none.
