Our read
Written Oct 19, from his facts through last season
Four starts, 4.0 points a game, zero touchdowns and a goose egg in week 4 of 2026. That is the case against him, and it is not close. Our preseason number had him at 86 points for the year on a 6.1 pace, and he is running well under that while carrying a Q tag into week 6 of 2026.
The role never came with him from ATL. He is listed third among NYG receivers behind Malik Nabers and Darius Slayton, in a room where Nabers and Wan'Dale Robinson combined for 58% of the targets in 2025. Players in his spot with a crowded target room fell 0.9 points a game on average the next year. At 28.9, in his seventh season, the profile we liked is thin: his points per game fell from 12.08 in 2024 to 5.49 in 2025, and his yards per target fell from 9.4 to 6.2 over the same stretch. His target share fell from 21.1% in 2024 to 16.1% in 2025, and this season's 16.2% sits right on that mark. Seventeen targets through week 5 of 2026 have produced just 8 catches and 109 receiving yards.
There are small green shoots, none of them enough. Zero drops on 17 targets, and a 13.6-yard average depth of target that ranks 23rd among 85 receivers with 15 or more targets, so the deep role is real even if the catches are not. He has not missed a game this season, which matters, and the bye hits in week 8 of 2026. But this roster cannot wait for a deep-ball breakout that may never come. We would move him out for anyone producing this week.
