Our read
Written Oct 18, from his facts through last season
Five games, five played, 7.5 points a game. That is ahead of our preseason pace of 6.9, and the week 3 of 2026 spike of 13.6 shows the route is live. The catch is what surrounds it: 15 catches, 225 yards, zero touchdowns, and receivers in his spot have lost 0.9 points a game from one season to the next on average. Without scoring, the whole thing runs on volume he does not have.
The volume is the real story. He is listed third among LAC wideouts behind Ladd McConkey and Quentin Johnston, and last year Keenan Allen and McConkey together took 43% of the targets. His 9% red-zone share this season ranks WR40 among 64 receivers with 20 or more carries and targets, which is fine but not a feed. The 2.9 yards of average separation, WR20 among 57 tracked receivers, says he wins when the ball comes his way. The ball just has to come.
Two things to manage now: he carries an O designation going into week 6 of 2026, and his bye hits in week 7 of 2026, so a roster spot could sit empty for two straight weeks. We set our preseason number at 97 points with 14 games expected, WR81 at the position, and nothing in five weeks has broken that view in either direction. Hold him in deeper leagues through the bye. If he finds the end zone in week 6 of 2026 or right after the bye in week 8 of 2026, that is the signal to trust him. If he has still not scored by the time week 9 of 2026 arrives, we would move on.
