Our read
Written Oct 17, from his facts through last season
The IR designation is the whole decision here. He has been out since before week 5 of 2026, and on this board he ranks below every available receiver while he sits on that list. That means every week you hold him is a week he gives you nothing, and Denver has no need to hurry a fifth receiver back. His bye in week 10 of 2026 is still ahead, so the dead weeks keep stacking up even before he is cleared.
Before the injury he was doing what he did as a rookie, just a touch better. Four games, 7.5 a game, one trip to the end zone, 12 targets in all. That is usable depth production, but it is not why you keep a roster spot through week 6 of 2026. We only expected 78 points from him all season, and the missed weeks make even that a stretch. Last season he topped 15 points in none of his 13 games and hit a zero in week 4 of 2025. The shape of his season was quiet weeks with the occasional 12, and week 3 of 2026 was more of the same.
The role problem has not moved either. He is listed fifth, behind Waddle, Sutton, Troy Franklin and Marvin Mims Jr., and Sutton and Franklin combined took 39% of Denver's targets last season. Receivers in his spot lose 0.9 points a game on average when the room looks like this. He played only 47.5% of Denver's snaps in 2025, WR105 among qualifying receivers, and his average target came 8.4 yards downfield. We set him at 13 games and 6.0 points a game before the season, and the missed week 5 of 2026 already eats at that. We would drop him and use the spot on a healthy receiver.
