Our read

Written Sun 12:01 am Central, for week 6

The Lions are on bye in week 6 of 2026, so TeSlaa does not play and scores no points this week. His next game is week 7 at home against Green Bay. He's third among Detroit's receivers behind Amon-Ra St. Brown and Jameson Williams, and 5.5 PPR points a game this season with zero touchdowns tells you he's still a stash. Find a fill-in for the week, and keep him on the bench on your roster if you have the room.

Written Oct 18, from his facts through last season

Zero touchdowns on 19 targets is where this starts, because scoring was the whole reason he mattered last year. The red-zone work was real, 11 red-zone touches, WR44 among 224 qualifying receivers, and 40.7% of his own touches came inside the red zone, sixth among 223. That route to points only pays when the scores land, and through five weeks of 2026 they have not landed once.

The case for patience is thinner than his week 4 of 2026 line makes it look. That 13.5 came off a 9.6 in week 3 of 2026, and week 5 handed back a zero. He runs 5.5 points a game right now against the 6.2 preseason pace we set for him, so he is a touch under even the modest bar we drew. The talent markers are fine, a 12.8-yard average depth of target that ranks WR30 among 85 receivers with 15 or more targets and zero drops on those 19 targets. But a 4.9% target share last season, 146th among 239 qualifying receivers, was always going to be the wall, and third on the DET depth chart behind St. Brown and Williams has not moved.

Here is the number that should worry anyone holding him. 47.4% of his points came from touchdowns last season, and receivers in that spot have cost about 2 points a game the following year on average, net of two factors. The crowded target room costs another 0.9, and his scoring share running 1.8 times the position norm docks roughly 0.7 more on top of that. Our full-season number sits at 87 points, WR88 among receivers on our board.

We would drop him in 12-team leagues and spend the spot on a clearer target path. In a deeper format, hold him through the week 6 of 2026 bye and watch whether the deep shots start turning into scores before you decide.
