Our read
Written Oct 19, from his facts through last season
One game, four points, one catch for 30 yards. That is the whole 2026 season so far for the Jets' first-round receiver, and the four missed weeks after it, weeks 2, 3, 4 and 5 of 2026, are the part that should worry you most. The good news is thin: no injury designation since before the next game on the schedule, so he can be back in your lineup right away in 2026.
The role is the problem even when he suits up. New York lists him third at receiver, behind Garrett Wilson and Adonai Mitchell, and last season Wilson alone took 34% of the targets while Mason Taylor took 18%. That is 52% spoken for before the rookie gets a look, on an offense that ran only 44% situation-neutral passes and won three games in 2025. Our preseason number was 103 points over the 14 games we expected, about 7.4 a game, and he is pacing far under that with one game logged.
For a 22-year-old rookie, the fantasy case was never about the usage he got in his one game so far, it was about whether he would actually see the field, and so far he has not. With most outcomes in our range landing between 79 and 128 points, he needs a stretch of games and targets he has no path to right now. Hold him only if your bench has room for a lottery ticket, and check whether he climbs past Mitchell over the next few weeks. If you need an active spot, this is not the one.
