Our read
Written Oct 19, from his facts through last season
Nothing in his first two games says he is close to helping anyone. One catch, 13 yards, 3 targets on the year, and then weeks 3, 4 and 5 of 2026 missed entirely. He carries no injury designation heading into week 6 of 2026, which helps, but the bye lands in week 7 of 2026 and his roster spot is worth nothing in the meantime. He turned 23 just before opening day, so the tools are young, but the Rams game in week 1 of 2026 and the week after showed nothing to build on.
The path is the real problem. LAC lists him fourth at receiver behind Ladd McConkey, Quentin Johnston and Tre Harris, and the 2025 target picture showed how locked this offense is, with Keenan Allen and McConkey taking 43% of targets between them a year ago. Mike McDaniel is new as play caller and Jim Harbaugh is back, so there is some scheme uncertainty, but a fourth rookie wideout does not outflank that pecking order by talent alone. The offense itself ran slow a year ago, 34.1 seconds a play, which caps the raw volume any fourth receiver can stumble into.
Our preseason number was 50 points, built on 12 expected games at about 4.2 a game, and he is running at 1.2 a game with three weeks already gone. The middle range ran 32 to 68, and missing weeks 3 through 5 of 2026 pushes him toward the low end of that, where injuries are what drag outcomes. He sits at WR124 on our board, 3 players left in his tier before a 3.4-point drop, so there is no reason to burn a roster spot on hope. Let him go and check back if a LAC receiver goes down.
