Our read
Written Oct 17, from his facts through last season
He has not taken a snap all season. Weeks 1 through 5 of 2026 are all did-not-play, the O designation has been in place since before week 3, and no headlines have moved since. With his bye in week 7 of 2026 coming right up, the earliest realistic return is week 8, and we expected only 12 games from him before any of this happened.
The role was already thin. Sixth on the Buffalo depth chart, a 4.8% target share last season, zero red-zone touches and zero touches inside the ten. Receivers in his spot, buried in a crowded room, fell 0.9 points a game on average the following year, and that drag is baked into this profile. It is not hard to see where the crowding comes from: Khalil Shakir and Keon Coleman pulled in 21% and 16% of Buffalo's targets in 2025, 37% between them, and that was before the new staff drew anything up. The small upside flag: players his age and arc gained 1.2 a game on average, and Joe Brady's new staff is the one wildcard. But the arrow points the other way. His points a game fell from 13.9 in 2024 to 4.14 in 2025, a collapse across the board, and 2025 was 4.1 points a game over 11 weeks with one week over 15. That is not a path to weekly starts.
We had him at 50 points for the season, one receiver in a deep tier before a 3.4-point drop to the next. Fine. None of that matters while he sits inactive. Drop him for a healthy receiver, and if someone in your league is stashing him, let it be their problem.
