Our read
Written Oct 19, from his facts through last season
Williams has missed every week so far, weeks 1 through 5 of 2026, and our preseason projection gave him just 5 points for the full season with 2 expected games, so nothing that has happened asks us to revise that. The median outcome in our numbers sits at 5.2 points, which tells you how little room there is between his typical week and his best one. The injury report shows no designation since before week 6 of 2026, which is the only mildly interesting thing about him right now, and his bye in week 11 of 2026 is still ahead.
The role was never there. Last season he played 12 games at 2.1 points a game, topped out at 7.9 in week 8 of 2025, and scored above the weekly median just 3 times. An 11.8% snap share and a 3.0% target share put him WR193 and WR180 among qualifying receivers, and with an average depth of target of 1.7 yards he was working almost entirely at the line of scrimmage. He has not cleared 15 points in any week of his career to date.
The real downside carries a number: the 23.5% touchdown-points share in his spot has come with a fall of 0.9 points a game the following season on average, and he was already at 2.1. Green Bay kept Matt LaFleur calling plays and added talent ahead of him. If he shows up in a lineup and catches a red-zone look, fine, but we would not hold a roster spot on that hope. Let him go and keep the slot open for someone actually playing.
