Our read
Written Oct 19, from his facts through last season
The week 5 of 2026 zero was bad timing, because Roman Wilson landed on IR before week 6 of 2026, and he plays no game while he is on that list. Our board ranks him below every available receiver, which means holding him costs you a roster spot and a week of production from a free agent every time you need one.
The five weeks he did play were not enough to build on. 9 points a game, 25 targets, 14 catches, two touchdowns. Week 3 and week 4 of 2026 were his peaks at 15 and 16.4 points, then week 5 gave nothing. Even those peaks rest on a shaky base: 31.1% of his points come from touchdowns, and among players in his spot that profile has cost about 2 points a game the following season, net of other factors. A crowded target room behind Metcalf and Pittman has cost another 0.9. He was third among PIT wideouts even before the injury.
Before the season we gave him 46 points total, about 3.8 a game over the 12 games we expected, and he beat that pace for a month. But the availability risk was always the case: we expected 12 games, and he played 0 in 2024 and 9 in 2025. With the season-long list holding him now, we would drop him for the best available receiver. If he returns and the staff gives him a real role, someone else will have him, and that is fine.
