Our read
Written Mon 12:02 am Central, for week 6
The Bengals are on bye in week 6 of 2026, so Colbie Young gives you zero points this week no matter what. His next chance comes in week 7 at Baltimore, a Sunday 12:00 pm Central kickoff, and he's still Questionable on Monday's report even for that one. When he does suit up, he's fourth among Cincinnati wideouts behind Ja'Marr Chase, Tee Higgins and Andrei Iosivas, and 1 PPR point a game this season backs up that placement. Plug a different WR into your lineup this week and revisit him before the Ravens game.
Written Oct 17, from his facts through last season
The season has told us what we needed. Three games, two targets, 9 receiving yards, 0 touchdowns, 1.0 points a game, then weeks 4 and 5 of 2026 missed with a Q designation hanging over him since before week 7. That is not a slow start for a rookie, that is a player with no role at all. He caught his only two balls back in week 2 of 2026 and has not been on the field since week 3 of 2026, and his bye in week 6 of 2026 is still to come, so nothing about the near schedule fixes this.
The role was never there to begin with. He is listed fourth among CIN receivers, behind Ja'Marr Chase, Tee Higgins and Andrei Iosivas, with Dohnte Meyers fifth, and Chase and Higgins together took 51% of CIN's targets in 2025. Zac Taylor calls the plays himself and that pecking order has not changed. Our preseason number was 42 points for the year, only 4.2 a game over the 10 games we expected him to play, and even that low bar assumed a path to the field he has not found. The range on him ran from 3 to 16 games, and he is already two missed weeks into it, sitting on weeks 4 and 5 of 2026.
A rookie at 24.1 years old was always a long shot in this spot, and the first month has cost him any reason to wait. He sits at WR136 on our board with 6 players left in his tier before a 2.5-point cliff, so the drop behind him is shallow and easy to replace. Let him go and find a receiver with a live role.
