Our read
Written Oct 17, from his facts through last season
He has not played a snap this season, sitting out weeks 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 of 2026, and he is not hurt, with no injury designation since before week 1 of 2026. Five straight healthy weeks of 2026 watching from the sideline. That is the fact that settles everything else. A fifth-round receiver from 2024 who cannot get on the field behind Jerry Jeudy, KC Concepcion, Denzel Boston and Isaiah Bond is not about to matter now.
The season behind the season was ugly on its own terms. In 2025 he played 8 games, cleared the position's weekly median once, and touched the ball 10 times all year. His target share sat at 4.7%, red-zone touches numbered 1, and a 6.8-yard average depth of target meant nothing downfield was coming. He cleared 15 points in none of those 8 played weeks in 2025, and his worst that year was a 0 in week 10 of 2025. The one bright spot, yards per target jumping from 3.1 to 7.1, is efficiency on crumbs. Todd Monken and Travis Switzer are both new this year, but five weeks of the new staff have not made him a thing in this offense.
The arithmetic around him is what keeps him buried. Harold Fannin Jr. and Jerry Jeudy took 42% of CLE's targets between them in 2025, and that room is still full. Crowded target rooms cost players in his spot 0.9 points a game from one season to the next, and landing on 5.5 expected team wins costs guys like this another 0.8. Our preseason number was 10 points for the whole year, our projection of 9.7 printed on his page, and even that needed 2 games of work he has not given. Drop him and pick up someone who plays.
