Our read
Written Oct 19, from his facts through last season
Five weeks of 2026 have gone by and KeAndre Lambert-Smith has not played a down. He sat out every game from week 1 of 2026 to week 5 of 2026, the bye of 2026 is still ahead, and there is no injury designation to explain any of it. A healthy receiver who sits five straight weeks while listing fifth behind Ladd McConkey, Quentin Johnston, Tre Harris and Brenen Thompson is not giving you anything a roster spot could use.
When he did play in 2025, the picture was thin: 1.6 points a game over 10 weeks, above the position's weekly median twice, and never past 15 in any single week. The target room was already crowded before this season, with Keenan Allen and McConkey taking 43% of the 2025 targets between them, and that kind of squeeze has cost players in his spot 0.9 points a game the following year. His scoring leaned hard on touchdowns, a 37.3% touchdown-points share, and that profile has cost players in his spot 2 points a game the next season. The 1.4x touchdown share carries another 0.7-point cost on average. The one thing we actually liked was a 17.6-yard average depth of target, but a deep threat with almost no volume has never produced in this range.
Our preseason number was 33 points over the 11 games we expected, and that now reads as generous with five weeks already gone and a bye coming. With two players left in his tier before a 2.0-point cliff, we would use the roster spot on a receiver who is actually taking the field. If a headline ever says he is active and drawing targets, we would look again before anything else.
