Our read
Written Sun 12:01 am Central, for week 6
Miami sits on bye in week 6 of 2026, so Tolbert does not play and scores nothing this week. His next chance comes in week 7, away at the Jets with a 12:00 pm Central kickoff. He's listed second among Miami wideouts behind Malik Washington, and 1.1 PPR points a game over three games with 0 touchdowns gives little reason to expect much when they return. In our rest-of-season order he sits at 24.4 PPR points, WR140, so keep him tucked on your bench and find a fill-in for the empty spot this week.
Written Oct 17, from his facts through last season
A healthy scratch in weeks 1 and 2 of 2026 tells you what Miami thinks before the stat line does. Then he played three weeks, caught one ball on three targets, and scored 3.2 points total. There is no injury designation and none since before week 3 of 2026, so nothing is hiding here. The team just does not play him.
The path never opened even before this. Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle took 47% of Miami's targets between them in 2025, and Tolbert is listed second among MIA receivers behind Malik Washington, not ahead of him. The crowded room is real: players in his spot lose 0.9 points a game on average from one season to the next, and his own slide is worse, from 8.94 points a game in 2024 to 3.69 in 2025 and 1.1 now. His target share fell with it, from 12.7% in 2024 to 7.4% in 2025, WR124 among 239 qualifying receivers. The role also shrank inside 2025 itself, snap share going from 70% over weeks 1 to 4 of 2025 to 36% over weeks 11 to 18 of 2025. In 2025 he cleared 15 points in zero of twelve weeks. The move from DAL to MIA did not help him, it put him behind two stars.
Our preseason number was 86 points, built on 6.1 a game across 14 expected games, and he is nowhere near that pace. He is WR91 on our board, and while there are 5 players left in his tier before a 7.7-point cliff, holding a roster spot for him is worse than that drop. The bye is week 6 of 2026. We would release him and take the next name.
