Our read
Written Oct 17, from his facts through last season
Burks has played four straight weeks since sitting out week 1 of 2026, and the production has not come close to following. One catch, six receiving yards, 0 touchdowns, 0.8 points a game in PPR. We set his season at 5 points total back before week 1 of 2026, with just 2 games expected, so the low bar was already there. He has already beaten the games expectation, but the per-week output is running under the 2.5 a game we thought he would carry across those games, and our median outcome for him sits at 4.9 points.
The path in Indianapolis is the reason. He is listed sixth among IND receivers, behind Alec Pierce, Josh Downs and Keenan Allen, and the 2025 target picture had Tyler Warren and Michael Pittman taking 21% apiece, 42% between them. A round 7 rookie behind that group is not getting volume unless injuries force it. Nothing in the injury report or the recent news suggests those names are moving. The offense does not force-feed anyone anyway: IND played 33.2 seconds a play and passed on 57% of situation-neutral plays in 2025, an 8-win team with plenty of mouths already fed. He carries no ADP at all, and his usage looks exactly like a seventh-rounder's.
The real cost here is the roster spot itself: he scores under a point a game, and every week you carry him is a week you could hold a live option. He is healthy, with no designation since before week 1 of 2026, so a deep league can keep him and wait. In anything shallower, release him and find a receiver who can actually see the field this season.
