Our read

Written Sun 12:01 am Central, for week 6

Miami doesn't play in week 6 of 2026, so Chris Bell sits this week and scores you nothing. His next chance comes in week 7 away at the Jets, kicking off Sunday 12:00 pm Central. There's no injury designation on Sunday's report, but he's fourth among Dolphins receivers, behind Malik Washington, Jalen Tolbert and Caleb Douglas, and his 3.4 PPR points a game this season with zero touchdowns hasn't earned snaps. Keep him benched this week and find a fill-in for the spot.

Written Oct 17, from his facts through last season

Nineteen and a half yards down the field on average, the deepest average target among 85 receivers with 15 or more targets, tells you what Miami thinks he does. He has also caught 5 balls all season. Both are true, and the second one is why he sits at 3.4 points a game in 2026 against the 7.8 we expected per game before the season.

The role is the case. Fourth among MIA wideouts behind Malik Washington, Jalen Tolbert and Caleb Douglas, with Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle having taken 47% of the targets in 2025 before both left the picture. A rookie usually does not win this job by week 5 of 2026, and he has not. The zero touchdowns in 5 games is part of it, but the volume is the engine problem, not the finishing. The hands are not: zero drops on those 15 targets, and 3 of 7 contested targets caught, which ranks WR18 among the 45 receivers with 5 or more contested targets. The tools are showing up on the only targets he gets.

The worry for a team that spent 167.6 ADP on him is that WRs drafted around his ADP have run about 105 points a season, and our 93 already sat 12.2 points below that, before the slow start made it worse. Injuries pull the low end down toward 42, though he has not missed a game yet, and there is no injury designation heading into the bye. We would hold him through the week 6 of 2026 bye and see whether new play caller Bobby Slowik expands his role, and if weeks 7 through 9 of 2026 look like weeks 1 through 5, cut him for the waiver find.
