Our read
Written Oct 17, from his facts through last season
Two games into his 2026 and the box score is empty in every column. He played week 3 of 2026 and week 5 of 2026, zero targets in both, zero catches, zero points, and he did not play in weeks 1, 2 and 4. There is no designation on the injury report since before week 5 of 2026, so the blanks are not being explained by a listing. What is left is the depth chart: fourth among Washington receivers, behind Terry McLaurin, Stefon Diggs and Antonio Williams, in an offense where McLaurin and Deebo Samuel Sr. took 48% of the targets between them last season.
The 2025 season was the high point of his case and it was not much. Nine games, 5.5 points a game, no week over 15, and a 6.3% target share on a 30.9% snap share. His scoring leaned hard on touchdowns, a 36.5% touchdown-points share, and the history on players in that spot is ugly: points a game fell 2 on average the next season. The crowded room in Washington lines up with a 0.9 average drop, and the elevated touchdown share with another 0.7. Those are averages among players in his spot, not his line, but every one of them points down, and he has scored nothing to argue with them.
Our preseason number was 52 points, a 4.0-point pace over 13 expected games, and he sits at zero through five weeks. His 2025 season was done after week 9 of 2025, and the rest of that year went by with him on the reserve list, so availability is no comfort either, and the bye still sits ahead in week 7 of 2026. With a receiver open on your roster, spend it on someone who is actually playing.
