Our read
Written Sep 8, from his facts through last season
The reason he played 3 of 17 last year is the reason I am not drafting him. Not one of those 14 healthy weeks was a benching for injury, he just did not get on the field until week 16. When he did, he averaged 8.6 points and never cleared 15, with a target share of 13.3% on a 32.4% snap share. That is a fourth receiver's usage.
The 2026 setup makes it worse. He changed teams, from MIA to LAC, and lands in a target room our numbers dock 0.9 points a game for. The books posted his new team at 3.5 wins, which costs him 0.8 more. A new head coach in Jeff Hafley and a new play caller in Bobby Slowik means a whole new scheme to earn a role in, at age 25, undrafted out of the 2025 class. Our projection is 7 points, middle range 1 to 14, and the honest games expectation is 2 with a range of 0 to 8.
He is going around pick 304 with WR196 on our board. There are 4 players left in his tier before a 0.4-point drop, so there is no urgency here. In a deep league I might take him with the very last pick as a dart, but if you draft him any earlier than that you are guessing on role and health at the same time. I would rather let him go and add someone with a defined path to snaps.
