Our read
Written Oct 18, from his facts through last season
Four games into his first season, Zavion Thomas has two catches for 12 yards and a carry for 11 more, and he has been held without a touchdown since the season opened in week 1 of 2026. That is 1.1 points a game in PPR, and there is nothing in the usage to suggest a turn is coming. He is listed fourth among CHI receivers, behind Rome Odunze, Luther Burden III and Kalif Raymond, and he sat out week 1 of 2026 before the quiet stretch that followed.
Our preseason number had him at 50 points for 2026 over the 12 games we expected, a pace of 4.2 a game. He is running well under that, and the middle range of 32 to 68 we set for him only holds up if he starts earning snaps. Ben Johnson calls the plays himself in his second year running this offense, and the target picture in 2025 was crowded even before Thomas arrived, with Odunze and Colston Loveland combining for 40% of the targets. There is no reason to think the rookie has cracked that yet.
The one thing in his favor is that he costs you nothing to hold: no designation, no recent headlines, and a bye not until week 10 of 2026. But a fourth receiver with 1.1 points a game is a roster spot doing nothing for you. Drop him, and watch whether the CHI depth chart moves after the bye.
