Our read
Written Sep 8, from his facts through last season
Everything starts with the two games. That is all of David Moore's 2025, and he averaged 1.4 points in them, never once clearing the position's weekly median. His season ended after week 4 and he sat on a reserve list from week 5 onward with no body part ever listed. Our number has him at 6 points this year, built on an expectation of about 3 games with a realistic range of 0 to 8. That is the games question more than the talent question.
The usage tells you why the projection is that thin. His target share collapsed from 11.0% in 2024 to 1.8% last year, and that sliver of a role costs him 1.1 points a game on its own. He drew zero red-zone touches and zero touches inside the ten. His average depth of target was 5.0 yards, dead last among qualifying receivers, so even the targets he got were the kind that don't score points. Carolina kept the same coaching staff, Dave Canales calling shots with Brad Idzik running the offense, so there is no new scheme to bet on changing his role. And the room is crowded, which costs him roughly another point a game on top of that.
The one thing he has on the page is 2024, when he played 15 games and finished WR87 with 85 points. That was two years ago and he is 31.7 now, entering his tenth season. There is no ADP on file for him, and 2 players sit in his tier before a 0.4-point cliff, which is another way of saying the board has already moved on. I would not draft him at all. If you are filling a final roster spot in a deepest leagues format, fine, but he is a last-pick stab and nothing more.
