Our read
Written Oct 18, from his facts through last season
Weeks 3 and 4 of 2026 are gone to injury, he carries an IR designation into week 6, and the two games he did suit up for produced two catches on six targets and 4.2 points a game. That is the case you are holding, and it is not much of a case. Every available receiver on the board ranks ahead of him while he sits on that list, so the roster spot is doing nothing.
Even before the injury, the path was narrow. He was third among Carolina receivers on the latest depth chart, behind Tetairoa McMillan and Jalen Coker, and the 2025 usage backed that up: a 15.1% target share in a room where McMillan took 25%. Receivers in his spot historically lose 0.9 points a game the following season because of that crowding, and the coaching staff is unchanged, so there is no new scheme to change the pecking order. His 6.0 points a game in 2025 already sat right at the edge of weekly usefulness, and he topped the position median in just 6 of 15 weeks.
The one thing working for him is a 19.4% air-yards share, and for receivers in that spot points a game climbed 1.3 the next season on average. That is the deep-ball role, and it is a real one, but it is also a boom-and-miss profile with an average depth of target that ranked near the bottom of qualifying receivers last year. Our 100-point projection, 7.1 a game over the 14 games we expected, needs games he has not played. Drop him and pick up a receiver who is actually on a field in week 6 of 2026.
