Our read
Written Oct 17, from his facts through last season
Two targets in four games. Zero catches, zero points a game, and a bye in week 5 of 2026 already gone. For a rookie fifth-round pick that is not a slow start, it is a season that has not begun, and there is no reason on the current depth chart to think it starts soon.
Andy Reid calls the plays and runs a pass-heavy KC offense, 58% of situation-neutral plays a year ago, so the scheme is not what blocks Cyrus Allen. The room does. He sits fifth among KC WRs behind Rashee Rice, Xavier Worthy, Tyquan Thornton and Jalen Royals, and last season Rice and Travis Kelce combined for 48% of the targets. A rookie who went 154.8 in drafts before the season does not carve into that from the fifth line, and through week 5 of 2026 nothing has happened to move him up.
Our preseason number was 66 points, and we only expected him to play 10 games even before the season, once we had weighed the chance he misses time. Even that looks rich now. WRs drafted around his ADP of 154.8 average 112.6 points in a season once the flops and the injury-shortened years are averaged in with the rest, and our 66 sits 46.6 below that, which was our honest read before a single snap. He has cost his fantasy managers nothing so far only because nobody can start him. If he is stashed on a roster somewhere, the spot is worth more than the wait. Let him go and find a receiver who is actually on the field.
