Our read
Written Oct 19, from his facts through last season
The four missed weeks are the whole case. Weeks 2, 3, 4 and 5 of 2026 went by without him, and the one game he did play in week 1 of 2026 produced one catch for 11 yards on 3 targets. That is 2.1 points a game. Our preseason pace asked for 7.2 a game, the 86 points we set for the season spread over the 12 games we expected, with injuries already pulling the low end of the range toward 38. Nothing since before week 6 of 2026 carries a designation, so he is healthy. He is just not playing.
Why he is not playing is a depth chart question. He is listed third among BAL wideouts, behind Zay Flowers and Rashod Bateman, and the target competition in Baltimore was already stacked before he arrived, with Flowers and Mark Andrews combining for 46% of the 2025 targets. Both coordinators are new to the job this year, so nothing about this offense is settled, but a rookie third-stringer waiting on a new play caller to expand his role is a wait you should not fund with a roster spot. The 2025 offense does not help him either: 34.8 seconds a play and passes on 48% of situation-neutral plays, an environment that gave three targets to a first-round rookie in his one look.
He went 160.9 in drafts before the season, and drafters had moved him up 9.3 picks before opening day, from 160.8 to 151.5. Our board had him lower still, WR95 overall, so nobody was counting on him. The call now is simple. If you drafted him, let him go. Watch whether injuries or performance move him up that depth chart, and check back only if it does.
